mullitover:

JONATHAN CHERRY: What gets you up in the morning?
ALEX CATT: Currently, the morning sunlight blazing through my window - I think I need some thicker curtains.
JC: Are there any emerging photographers inspiring you at the moment?
AC: There seems to be a lot of very talented people making photographs at the moment, I spend my time endlessly browsing blogs, flickr, websites and always come across some really nice stuff. A couple of people who’s photos I keep an eye out for at the moment are, Sander Meisner and Jake Stangel.
JC: What is Lost Along The Way all about?
AC: Lost Along The Way is a series I made whilst on a 2500 mile, 6 country, 8 day roadtrip around Europe last month with my friend. So I guess its about exploring, seeing new places, following no real route and having a good time.
JC: What draws you to making landscapes?
AC: Landscapes have always fascinated me, I feel more comfortable working with something that isn’t really going anywhere than with a person in-front of the lense. With landscapes I can wait for the right light and think things through, with people there seems to be a lot more to think about.
JC: How is University life these days?
AC: University life is good, It’s key to put a lot in and really make the most of your time. I study some great photographers/people too such as Sam Harris and Harry Mitchell, which is really helpful when you need a hand with things or to just talk about work. We have some great tutors here at Brighton too, which I am very grateful for. It’s a bit daunting to think about life after University, hopefully I will make the most of this year (my last) and see how things turn out.
JC: Favourite tree?
AC: Silver Birch’s maybe, I have childhood memories of being in my Grandparents garden peeling the bark from them and being amazed by its colour.

Thanks to Jonathan at mull it over for this.
